In 2017, Mike Kern and I traveled to Costa Rica for Starbucks Reserve to capture stories rooted in the coffee culture. We found a warm and thriving community of small and large scale farmers, agronomists, international coffee business experts, and everything in between. Often there was a blurry line between modern and old ways of doing things, and the result is a culture that is deep with history, tradition and passion for Coffee.
