Alvin Garcia - Fuel For Life
What is it like to be a young Guatemalan immigrant in America? How do you find community? What does the path to success look like for someone like this? What happens when the plan doesn’t work out?
At the age of seven, Alvin came to the US with his family as a legal immigrant. This short film follows Alvin in his job as a routesetter at the Front Climbing Club, as well as during his life outside of work which includes time with his family, football, cycling and climbing. We’ll learn about his family’s story, his experience growing up as a young immigrant, what his vision of success and fitting in is, and what fuels him to to achieve the “American Dream”.
